Canadian dollar generally unchanged, still waiting to see what the new government will say

Canadians are awaiting as to what the new government will say in the coming days. Rumbles out of the Prairie provinces have put the Trudeau government on notice, Alberta’s premier Kenney has told Trudeau to avoid any deals with the NDP, Bloc Quebecois or Greens that would endanger the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion through British Columbia. The federal election results confirm there’s a fire of frustration burning in Western Canada and it’s time for a new deal with Ottawa, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe said. He went on further to say Trudeau must fulfil the demands of the two provinces if he is serious about reaching out to the West.

Expect a narrow range until the sparks start flying between Ottawa and the West.
